Yeah, I guess its just the negative reaction I've found when I tell people that I play games for story and art. I play games for fun as well so I should be a little more easy-going! And a little less of a hypocrite :)

Glad the comment made you ridiculously happy - I get the same way!

Thanks for the compliment, Adam! Seriously, these kind of comments make me ridiculously happy.

As far as playing games "just for fun", I'm not entirely sure what you find problematic. Simply enjoying your time spent doesn't necessitate a lowbrow and cheap experience. On the other hand, if someone negates any intelligent conversation about video games (i.e. "DOOD WHATEVER JUST PLAY"), than I agree; that kind of notion is for people that don't like to think.

Very interesting post to one of the best podcasts out there at the moment. I love being told a good story and the chance to immerse myself in an artists world is what draws me to play games and write about them.

If I'm honest, I find the notion of playing games 'just for fun' to be really irritating. Not because I'm utterly pretentious (but maybe I am) but because games are capable and already deliver an experience far exceeding that of low entertainment.
I could go on, and on! But I'll leave it there.

This is a wonderful site that I just stumbled on so I look forward to your future posts.
